Dr. Karen Choptain Veterinarian

I completed two bachelor's degrees (Bachelor of Animal Sciences and Bachelor of Science Major Microbiology) through the University of Manitoba before heading to the Western College of Veterinary Medicine. I completed my veterinary degree in 2012. In my final year of rotation, I completed a 1-month externship in emergency and critical care at the Arizona Veterinary Specialists Hospitals in Gilbert and Phoenix, Arizona. I have a strong interest in critical care management and internal medicine.

I also have a passion for endoscopy and laparoscopic surgery. I completed my training in both rigid and flexible endoscopy in 2014 through the Oquendo Center. I began my laparoscopic surgery training in 2016 through the Colorado State Veterinary Teaching Hospital and look forward to further training in this field in the near future.

I enjoy my time off work spending time in nature and travelling with my cats to cat shows. I live with my dog Turtle and my orange cat army.
