I made a mid-life career change to veterinary medicine because I’ve always loved animals and saw an opportunity for long-term growth in the field. Now, as an orthopedic assistant, I get to work in an area that truly excites me—surgery. Orthopedic procedures are my favorite, especially because of the precision, tools, and technology involved. I also thrive in high-energy environments like emergency care, where every case is different and presents a new challenge.
One of the things I love most about my clinic is the hands-on experience I get with orthopedic opportunities and emergency cases. The fast-paced nature of this work keeps me engaged, and I enjoy being part of a team that’s dedicated to improving the lives of animals.
Outside of work, I have a range of hobbies that keep me busy. I’m a former president of the Manitoba BASS Anglers Association, and I’ve also competed as an amateur race car driver. I have a passion for fishing, Muay Thai, Japanese cars, and cooking—especially since I’m a professionally trained chef with a background in culinary arts and hospitality management. I also plan to learn Jiu-Jitsu in the near future.
I don’t currently have pets, but I’ve had some incredible ones in the past, including a Cane Corso and an American Mastiff. In the future, I plan to bring two more Mastiffs into my home.
