Barb has been a Registered Veterinary Technologist for 24 years and has worked for the Winnipeg Veterinary Care Group for the past 4 years. Barb is always continuing her education to keep her skills up to date with the new techniques and technologies. Her love for her work is still as strong as the day she graduated. Barb always looks forward to meeting new people and their pets!
Barb has 12 and 14 year old boys and twin girls who are 10. Her biggest baby is a 7 year old Great Dane named "Leo". Barb is always running her kids to all of their activities and enjoys peace and quiet in her garden and watching movies with her husband.
As a recent addition to our RVT team, Char comes to us with experience working with a wide range of animals. After graduating from the Animal Health Technologist program at Red River College in 2015, spent a year in research handling various species of animals. Charmaine also had the opportunity to gain experience working in a mixed animal practice in Arborg, Manitoba, where she enjoyed helping both large and small animals before making her return to the city.
At home, Charmaine enjoys spending her time with her kitten "Rina".
Cheryl has been with Bridgwater Veterinary Hospital since we opened our doors in April 2017. Along with Bridgwater Vet, Cheryl currently works with the Animal Eye Clinic Manitoba. Before working with Bridgwater, Cheryl worked in both small & mixed animal practices in Manitoba during her career as an RVT. She graduated with honors from the Animal Health Technologist course at Red River College in 1994.
Cheryl currently has 2 rescued dogs, "Joey" & "Annie", and 2 cats, "Romeo" and "Peanut". In this field, however, you are just a cute fuzzy face from adding a new member to the family!
When not working Cheryl is planning her next trip. She loves to travel especially if she can incorporate volunteering at a rescue along the way. As a self proclaimed elephant fanatic, Cheryl will be returning to Thailand this winter for the third time to volunteer with an amazing elephant & dog sanctuary.
She believes strongly in animal rights for all animals and hopes to be a true advocate for them!
Dana joined the Winnipeg Veterinary Care Group team in January 2016, working at Best Friends Animal Hospital. In April 2017, Dana had the opportunity to transfer to Bridgwater Veterinary Hospital and Wellness Centre. She has a special interest in seeing and caring for emergency and critical care patients. In 2015, she graduated from the Douglas College Veterinary Technology program in British Columbia, where she had lived for 3 years.
Dana grew up in Gimli, Manitoba with lots of animals surrounding her. She now lives in Winnipeg with her partner and their 4 dogs, 2 cats, hedgehog and turtle. They also started their own apiary in the spring of 2017 and are having so much fun with it!
Danelle graduated from Red River College in 2014 with an Animal Health Technology diploma. Danelle started her career in 2013 working for another Veterinary Hospital where she gained knowledge and experience while in school and after graduation. Danelle started working at Bridgwater Veterinary Hospital fall of 2017 as emergency medicine is a huge interest of hers.
During Danelle's spare time she often volunteers at spay/neuter/vaccine clinics around Manitoba for various rescues and organizations. She also enjoys being able to apply her skills to help communities and families who are less fortunate and don’t have access to vet care for their pets.
Danelle enjoys anything outdoors especially camping, hiking, beach, pool, bbqs, bonfires, snowboarding and snowmobiling. She especially enjoys spending time with her 5 furbabies; Nika (husky mix), Keira (rottie mix), and her 3 cats; Dzuma, Ronin, and Archer.
Haley has worked for the Winnipeg Veterinary Care group since 2015. She began working as a Veterinary Assistant and then as a Registered Veterinary Technologist after completing the RVT program at Red River College in 2016. Her special interests include nutrition, parasitology and senior wellness care. She loves spending time with her family, friends and her dogs.
Michelle has been happily working for the Winnipeg Veterinary Care Group for 2 years. She graduated with an Animal Health Technology diploma in 2015 from Red River College. Since taking her first steps with the help from her golden retriever, she has always known she wanted to live a life with animals by her side.
Michelle currently has a rescue, bundle of energy, "Ricky Bobby" and two cats, "Joseph" and "Maci". In the near future she hopes to adopt a pig and a goat. Michelle looks forward to getting to know all of our new clients and their pets!
Sam started working at Bridgwater Veterinary Hospital in May 2017, right as her first year of the RVT program at Red River College ended. She is now in her second and final year of the program. Sam has worked at one of our sister Hospitals, Stonewall Veterinary Hospital, since 2015, and volunteered there throughout high school. Sam particularly enjoys diagnostic imaging such as digital X-ray, Ultrasound, Endoscopy and CT Scans. She also enjoys pharmacology and interacting with the patients.
Sam spends her spare time delving into science-fiction movies, shows and novels, particularly Harry Potter and Doctor Who. She also spends as much time as possible with her cat, "Tick", who always manages to get himself into strange situations.
Sarah recently joined our RVT team in February 2019. As a 2007 graduate of the Animal Health Technology diploma program at NAIT in Alberta, she comes to Bridgwater Veterinary Hospital with small animal day and emergency experience. Sarah has an interest in emergency medicine along with hematology and client relations.
Any free time that Sarah has, will be spent with her family, in the garden or hunting for antique furniture to refinish.
Sydney is a new RVT who graduated from the Animal Health Technology program at Red River College in 2017. She started working at Bridgwater Veterinary Hospital in May 2017. Sydney is interested in animal behavior and the human/animal bond and hopes to continue education in this area.
When Sydney is not working she enjoys spending time camping, fishing or off-roading. She loves spending time with friends and family and can often be found watching a scary movie cuddled up with her fur baby "Xena".
Zoe has been working in veterinary clinics since she was 13 years old. She has been a Registered Veterinary Technologist since 1994 and has had the pleasure of working in almost every aspect of veterinary medicine, including large animals, small animals and exotics. Zoe has always loved emergency and critical care practices and is thrilled about working in this exciting new hospital.
Zoe spends all of her other waking time with her husband, 2 grown human kids and 5 slightly hairier kids!
