Our Veterinarians

  • Dr. Manjit Sra, DVM
    Veterinarian & Practice Owner
    Dr. Sra graduated in 1996 from the College of Veterinary Medicine at PAU in India. He came to Canada in 1997 and wrote the required examinations in 1998. Dr. Sra started practicing in 1999 in Winnipeg at The Winnipeg Animal Emergency Hospital where he practiced for 6 years. In 2008 he opened up his own hospital; Southglen Veterinary Hospital. He has a special interest in soft tissue and orthopedic surgery and emergency and critical care. Every year Dr. Sra does 50-70 hours of continuing education to keep up to date on new techniques as veterinary medicine is always evolving.

    In his spare time he is an avid golfer. He enjoys spending time with his son, daughter, and Sealyham terrier named Zoe.


  • Dr. Lori Gould, DVM
    Veterinarian
    Dr. Gould graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in 2003. After practicing for a few years, she was quickly drawn to Emergency Medicine. She has worked several years in this field and has attended the NAVC Post Graduate Institute for additional Emergency and Critical Care training. She loves the opportunity to assist in the wellness and general health of all her patients. She also enjoys the challenge of critically ill patients, and helping these difficult cases make their way home! In addition to the excitement of Emergency Medicine, Dr. Gould is well-trained in both Abdominal and Cardiac Ultrasound. She completed the Small Animal Veterinarian Ultrasound Imaging Program (Academy of Veterinary Imaging/Sound Eklin) in 2012. She loves how this tool can offer so much additional information and can make sense of even the most complicated cases. Outside of work, Dr. Gould loves to travel, enjoys lake-life and spending time with her family. She has a surprisingly spry 15 year old Jack Russell Terrier named Lucy and a request from her children for about 100 other animals…..outcome pending on this.
  • Dr. Delores Faucher, DVM
    Veterinarian
    Dr. Delores Faucher received her degree from WCVM. Dr. Faucher has been practicing emergency/critical care medicine for the past 8 years. While she mainly practices with dogs and cats, she is also able to provide emergency care for exotic species.
  • Dr. Karen Choptain, DVM
    Veterinarian
    Dr. Choptain has spent over 22 years in the field of veterinary medicine. She completed two bachelors degrees ( Bachelor of Animal Sciences and Bachelor of Science Major Microbiology) through the University of Manitoba before heading to the Western College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Choptain completed her veterinary degree in 2012. In her final year of rotation she completed a 1 month externship, in emergency and critical care, at the Arizona Veterinary Specialists Hospitals in Gilbert and Phoenix Arizona. Dr. Choptain has a strong interest in critical care management and internal medicine. She also has a passion for endoscopy and laparoscopic surgery. She completed her training in both rigid and flexible endoscopy in 2014 through the Oquendo Center. She also began her laparoscopic surgery training in 2016 through the Colorado State Veterinary Teaching Hospital. She looks forward to further training in this field in the near future.
  • Dr. Tricia Ball, DVM, CCRP, CVA
    Veterinarian
    Dr. Ball completed a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Manitoba before graduating from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Saskatchewan with her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2014. Since graduating she has become a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner (CCRP) through the University of Tennessee, become a Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist (CVA) through the Chi Institute in Florida, and become certified in Veterinary Chiropractic through the International Veterinary Chiropractic Association.
  • Dr. Mairead Drain, DVM
    Veterinarian
    Dr. Mairead Drain graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in 2005. Since graduation, she has worked in a wide range of small animal practices in Canada and overseas in England. Dr. Drain has a special interest in working with clients and their pets to help make their time together as enjoyable and long as possible. Dr. Drain enjoys reading, drawing, and is an avid marathon runner in her spare time. She also enjoys spending time with her husband Luke, her fur-babies, Chunky Rice and Dandel, and her slightly less furry baby Jude.
  • Dr. Jill Tait, DVM
    Veterinarian
    Dr. Tait joined the Bridgwater team in September of 2017 but has had the pleasure of working for the Winnipeg Veterinary Care Group since October of 2010. Dr. Tait received her Bachelor of Science degree from Brandon University in 2005 and graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in 2010. Dr. Tait enjoys practicing general wellness medicine combined with the more complicated cases that arrive during emergency and referral appointments. Dr. Tait is kept busy outside of work by her husband, Kyle, and her two young daughters, Nora, and Sarah. Rounding out the family are the fat cat, Mac, and the greying old dog, Colby. Dr. Tait is an avid book collector and reader (when she can find the time).
  • Dr. Amber Ly, DVM
    Veterinarian

    Dr. Amber Ly joined the Bridgwater Veterinary Hospital team in January 2018. She graduated from the Western College of Veterinary medicine after receiving her Bachelor of Science (hons) degree in Animal Science at the University of Manitoba.Her areas of interest include surgery, emergency medicine and dermatology. She also enjoys wellness/preventative medicine where she finds she can build a close relationship with her clients and patients.Outside of the clinic she enjoys trying new restaurants, spending time with her family and friends, likes to read, cycle, and is very passionate about scuba diving and travelling.She also loves spending time with her fur baby, Robbie. Who was adopted from the Winnipeg Humane Society.

  • Dr. Kimberley Teerhuis, B.Sc., DVM
    Veterinarian

    Dr. Teerhuis joined the Bridgwater Veterinary Hospital team in April, 2018.  She completed a Bachelor of Science double major degree in biology and biochemistry at the University of Winnipeg before being accepted to the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskaoon, SK.  Dr. Teerhuis developed a keen interest in emergency and critical care medicine during her studies and performed a rotating externship in Manahttan, New York.  She graduated with a doctorate of veterinary medicine degree in 2010 and has been working in small animal and emergency medicine ever since.  Dr. Teerhuis has a passion for emergency medicine, surgery, orthopedics, and exotics.  When she’s not working, Dr. Teerhuis enjoys spending time with her husband, Kris, their little boy, Austin, and two dogs, Abigail and Bailey.  In her spare time she enjoys cooking new recipes and taking pictures of her toddler.
